| dc.description | El régimen político democrático liberal parece consolidarse definitivamente; al mismo tiempo se mantiene una contradicción entre las tradiciones históricas y las líneas de pensamiento del liberalismo con la democracia. Éste se sustenta en los valores de la libertad, mientras que la democracia pugna por la igualdad jurídica y política. El neoliberalismo defiende, en última instancia, la libertad de propiedad y, en general, las libertades económicas, exacerbando la tensión natural que se da entre el liberalismo y el régimen democrático. Si a eso le agregamos el hecho de que el neoliberalismo ha confluido con el neoconservadurismo, se entendería que la democracia contemporánea se encuentra acechada. | |
| dc.description | Abstract: The liberal political regime appears to be becoming consolidated. At the same time, however, there is a contradiction between the historical traditions and lines of thought of liberalism and democracy. Liberalism is based on the values of freedom, whereas democracy strives to achieve legal and political equality. Noeliberalism defends freedom of ownership and economic freedoms in general. This exacerbares the natural tension that occurs between liberalism and the democratic regime. If one adds the fact that neoliberalism has combined with neoconservatism, then contemporary democracy can be said to be threatened. | |
