dc.description	The paper focuses on the interconnections between indigenous Guambia encomienda and the Belalcázar production unit, to analyze on the one hand, the participation of the encomienda tribute –exchanged (conmutado) by indigenous labor force subject to salary– within the factor endowment of the Belalcázar unit; a phenomenon that generated 98.15% of the unit’s production in six years. On the other hand, in the light of the Guambia case study, the transformations of the encomienda model in the province and period are investigated. Transformations determined by regional production changes and certified by Crown regulations implemented in situ. Finally, it will be concluded on the dependencies of these units with respect to the permutation mechanism (conmutación) within an economic model in transition, and in relation to the metamorphosis of the Guambia encomienda during the 16th and 17th centuries.	en-US
dc.description	En este artículo se estudian las interrelaciones entre la encomienda de Guambía y la unidad de producción Belalcázar, con el fin de analizar, por una parte, la participación del tributo de encomienda –permutado por fuerza de trabajo indígena sujeta asalariada– dentro de la dotación de factores de la unidad Belalcázar; fenómeno que generó 98.15% de la producción de la unidad en seis años. Por otra parte, a la luz del caso de Guambía, se investigan las transformaciones del modelo de encomienda dentro de la provincia y periodo. Transformaciones determinadas por cambios productivos regionales, y certificadas por normativas regias implementadas in situ. Finalmente, se concluirá sobre las dependencias de estas unidades ante el mecanismo de conmutación, dentro de un modelo económico en  tránsito, específicamente frente a la metamorfosis de la encomienda de Guambía durante los siglos XVI y XVII.	es-ES
