Textbooks currently used in the Spanish school, which covering topicsrelated to the Arabs and Muslims are generally poor. Its contentsare characterized by poverty and sometimes by their ambiguity andimprecision. But even so, if we compare these with textbooks whichwere circulating several decades ago, we can see a clear improvementand a greater burden on the view given objectiveness on the Arab-Muslim culture.The traditional historical and cultural relations between Spain and theArab-Muslim world, despite being complex and difficult at certaintimes, have not had their echo in these manuals. Neither they did nothave devoted the space or the enough interest to the millions of Arabsand Muslims living in Europe today, including more than one millionwho live in Spain and are active and vital part of those societies whichculture deserves to be respected. Many of these manuals have usedthe topics in their explanations, sometimes, perhaps through ignoranceand others with malicious intent. Furthermore, the more commontendency of these books is the realization of a superficial analysis andbeing lacking of a logical order of information given on the subject.
