| dc.description | El Perú alberga, en sus partes más altas, una gran cantidad de lagos y lagunas de régimen permanente o temporal y de variada diversidad de tamaños. Presentan un gran potencial de aprovechamiento para diversos usos, como agricultura, energía, piscicultura, abastecimiento humano, industrial y minero y algunas de ellas un importante valor turístico y en belleza escénica. En este entorno de humedales la Laguna Sausacocha es una de las más visitadas y posee un enorme valor por los servicios ambientales que otorga a la comunidad en general. El objetivo del estudio fue obtener el valor económico de los servicios ambientales de la Laguna Sausacocha aplicando el Método de Valoración Contingente (MVC). En junio de 2012 fueron encuestadas al azar 146 habitantes de las cercanías de la laguna y relacionadas directamente al uso o conservación del recurso y servicios ambientales. Se indagó acerca de la importancia que revisten los mismos así como lo que estarían dispuesto a pagar (DAP) para conservar la calidad ambiental del recurso. Los resultados manifestaron que hay 59% de encuestados que reconocen que los servicios son algo importantes y un 41% manifiesta que son bastante importantes. Por otro lado, 84% de los encuestados reconoce los servicios ambientales de la laguna y un 63% valoran el uso turístico y 19% belleza escénica. Con respecto a la disposición a pagar de los 146 encuestados, 106 (72,6%), manifestaron estar dispuestos a pagar una suma mensual determinada por los servicios ambientales de la laguna. Muchas personas mostraron DAP de S./ 10 como de S./ 1 (1 S./=US$ 0,36), es decir que la gama de posibles pagadores posee una gran amplitud. El valor promedio del pago está en S./ 7,6019 (US $2,73) encontrando un valor máximo de S./ 50 (US $18). La desviación estándar del valor medio está en S./ 7,96849 (US $2,86). Abstract Peru in its upper elevations is the home of numerous permanent and temporary lakes and ponds of varied sizes. They have great potential for use for various uses, such as agriculture, energy, fisheries, industrial and mining, scenery and some tourist value and scenic beauty. In this environment the Sausacocha lagoon is one of the most visited water body and has a tremendous value for environmental services that it gives to the community as a whole. The aim of the study was to obtain the economic value of ecosystem services provided by the Sausacochalagoon by applying the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). In June 2012, some 146 people were surveyed randomly were applied to the population of the surrounding study area, to basically relate the resources utilization and conservation and their Willingness to Pay (WTP) for their environmental services. The results showed that there are 59% of respondents stated that the services are somewhat important and 41% said they are very important. Furthermore, 84% of respondents recognized the importance of the environmental services of the lagoon and 63% acknowledged their touristic value and 19% their scenic beauty. With respect to the willingness to pay of the 146 respondents, 106 (72.6%) expressed their willingness to pay for the lagoon’s environmental services. Most people are willing to pay a amount between S./ 1 to S ./0 (1 S./=US$0.36). The average value of the payment is of S. / 7.6019 (US $2.73) and a maximum value of S. / 50 (US $18).
