| dc.description | The women, through their struggles and the bearings of the feminisms have achieved the right to access to higher education in almost all western countries, which is a great achievement. This massive influx has not substantially changed the gender relations into these institutions, or in other areas of contemporary society. The aim of this article is to do a critical review in order to provide some elements for the analysis in the Latin America and the Caribbean context from a feminist perspective. It examines publications and research on feminist theories, the emergence of feminisms and women’s education. In the reflection, it shows that the feminist theories have disputed the patriarchal postulates that legitimize the masculine dominance in the public and private. It allows unveiling the andro-centric bias in the sciences, and presenting arguments to develop proposals that take into account situations and experiences of the diversity of women, in order to outline their contributions and their participation in social changes. The feminist theories and actions become relevant in this process; it showed the influence of women´s movements. Education is also key and it must commit to change the patriarchal culture, for that reason it is relevant to create the conditions for a comprehensive education that equates feminine and masculine gaze about building a more just world. | en-US |
| dc.description | Las mujeres gracias a sus luchas y a los apoyos de los feminismos han conseguido el derecho a acceder a la educación superior en prácticamente todos los países occidentales, lo cual constituye un logro importante. Este ingreso masivo no ha alterado sustancialmente las relaciones de género al interior de estas instituciones, ni en otros ámbitos de la sociedad contemporánea. El objetivo de este artículo es hacer una revisión crítica, para aportar algunos elementos al análisis en el contexto de América Latina y el Caribe, desde una perspectiva feminista. Examina las publicaciones e investigaciones sobre las teorías feministas, la emergencia de los feminismos y la educación de las mujeres. En la reflexión se muestra que las teorías feministas han impugnado los postulados patriarcales que legitiman el dominio de lo masculino en lo público y privado, permitiendo develar el sesgo androcéntrico en las ciencias, y planteando argumentos para elaborar propuestas que tengan en cuenta las situaciones y experiencias de la diversidad de mujeres, con el fin de visibilizar sus aportes y su participación en las transformaciones sociales.Las teorías y acciones de los feminismos adquieren relevancia en este proceso, evidenciando la influencia de los movimientos de mujeres. La educación también es clave y debe comprometerse para cambiar radicalmente la cultura patriarcal, por lo cual deben propiciarse las condiciones para una formación integral que equipare la mirada femenina y masculina sobre la construcción de un mundo más justo. | es-ES |
