dc.description	The article discusses the contributions of philosophy to International Relations (IR) theories. What is the role of philosophy in traditional theories and dissident voices, such as feminist theory? What are the contributions of philosophy to the changes that these voices seek to achieve? The objective is to research IR as an academic discipline, the importance of studying classical theories of philosophy and the need to use new approaches to deal with the present. The research is qualitative and exploratory, using bibliographic material. The study of feminist theory within the IR is carried out by analyzing the case of female mutilation through Martha Nussbaum, dialoguing with the protection of human rights. There is a journey through the theories of IR, arriving at the new feminist approach that also uses philosophy to support its studies.	en-US
dc.description	Abordam-se as contribuições da filosofia nas teorias de Relações Internacionais (RI). Qual o papel da filosofia nas teorias tradicionais e nas vozes dissidentes, como a teoria feminista? Quais as contribuições da filosofia para as mudanças que essas vozes buscam alcançar? Objetiva-se pesquisar as RI como disciplina acadêmica, a importância do estudo das teorias clássicas da filosofia e a necessidade de utilizar novas abordagens para lidar com a atualidade. A pesquisa é qualitativa e exploratória, por meio de material bibliográfico. O estudo da teoria feminista dentro das RI faz-se pela análise do caso da mutilação feminina por meio de Martha Nussbaum, dialogando com a proteção dos direitos humanos. Realiza-se um percurso pelas teorias das RI, chegando à nova abordagem feminista que, também, utiliza a filosofia para embasar seus estudos.	pt-BR
