dc.description	This paper presents the context of the crisis of public security in Brazil and Ceará, showing some concepts of public safety, violence and insecurity, especially community policing and the role of police in the twenty-first century, showing thepolice and their way pursuit of society. Is commented on community policing in PMCE and their resistance. Of note is the scene of study: 4th Company of the 5th Battalion Military Police and the district of Tancredo Neves, checking theirpeculiarities, the main problems and because of his choice and, finally, community perceptions of Tancredo Neves from the point of view of security public and the role of the Military Police of Ceará.	en-US
dc.description	Este trabalho apresenta o contexto da crise de Segurança Pública no Brasil e no Estado do Ceará, mostrando algumas conceituações de Segurança Pública, violência e insegurança, destacando-se a polícia comunitária e o papel da polícia noséculo XXI, mostrando a polícia e seu caminho em busca da sociedade. Comenta se sobre o policiamento comunitário na PMCE e suas resistências. Destaca-se o cenário de estudo: 4ª Companhia do 5º Batalhão Policial Militar e o bairro doTancredo Neves, verificando suas peculiaridades, principais problemas e o porque de sua escolha e, finalmente, as percepções da comunidade do Tancredo Neves sob o ponto de vista da Segurança Pública e do papel da Polícia Militar do Ceará.	pt-BR
