dc.description	The purpose of this research was to generate a didactic model for the teaching and learning of mathematics with manipulative didactic materials for elementary school students in the official institutions of the municipality of Piedecuesta, Santander. For this purpose, it was considered fundamental to carry out an analysis of the conceptions that teachers have about the teaching and learning of mathematics, and based on these results, the categories that explained the practice from their ideas were defined. In the same way, the actions that teachers had in practice about the didactics they implemented were analyzed in order to make the theoretical proposal of a didactic model. Theoretically, the research was based on the considerations of Godino (2011), who conceives the didactics of mathematics as a science oriented to the design of processes. Epistemologically, the relationship between the cognizing subject and the object to be known was considered, framed from the paradigm and epistemological approach of qualitative scientific research of phenomenological character. The universe space was constituted by the classroom teachers of the basic primary education cycle, from whom information was collected through the application of a semi-structured interview. All this motivated the generation of a didactic model for the teaching and learning of mathematics with manipulative materials, leading to the construction of theoretical contributions for the strengthening of mathematics teaching based on teachers’ conceptions and pedagogical practices.	en-US
dc.description	La presente investigación tuvo como propósito la generación de un modelo didáctico para la enseñanza y aprendizaje de las matemáticas con materiales didácticos manipulables en alumnos del ciclo de la educación básica primaria, en las instituciones oficiales del municipio de Piedecuesta, Santander. Para lo cual, se consideró fundamental realizar un análisis sobre las concepciones que poseen los docentes sobre la enseñanza y aprendizaje de las matemáticas y atendiendo a estos resultados, se definieron las categorías que explicaron la práctica desde sus ideas. De la misma manera, se analizaron las actuaciones que en la práctica tenían los docentes sobre la didáctica que implementaban, para hacer la propuesta teórica de un modelo didáctico. Teóricamente, la investigación se fundamentó en las consideraciones de Godino (2011), quien concibe la didáctica de las matemáticas como una ciencia orientada al diseño de procesos. Epistemológicamente, se atendió la relación del sujeto cognoscente y el objeto por conocer, enmarcado desde el paradigma y enfoque epistemológico de la investigación científica cualitativa de carácter fenomenológico. El espacio universo estuvo constituido por los docentes de aula del ciclo de educación básica primaria, de quienes se recogió información mediante la aplicación de una entrevista semiestructurada. Todo ello motivó a la generación de un modelo didáctico para la enseñanza y aprendizaje de las matemáticas con materiales manipulativos, conllevando a la construcción de aportes teóricos para el fortalecimiento de la enseñanza de la matemática a partir de las concepciones docentes y prácticas pedagógicas.	es-ES
