The purpose of this manuscript is to establish the impacts generated by those who reside on the margin of the body of water called Caño la Cuerera,   in   the   transect   corresponding to the Macunaima neighborhood, in the city of Villavicencio Meta, Colombia. This was approached from a descriptive quantitative approach, making observations in situ, as well as contrasting and verifying antecedents of the study area; A survey-type tool was applied to those who inhabit the margins of the study area, the information collected was processed through the SPSS 25 software. As a result, the main source of negative impact of the affluent is domestic discharges, since they are those of greater recurrence along the riverbed.  Este manuscrito tiene como objeto establecer los impactos generados por quienes residen en la margen del cuerpo de agua denominado caño la Cuerera, en el transecto correspondiente al barrio Macunaima, en la ciudad de Villavicencio Meta, Colombia. Este se abordó desde un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo, realizando observaciones in situ, así como contrastar y verificar antecedentes de la zona de estudio; se aplicó una herramienta tipo encuesta a quienes habitan las márgenes del área de estudio, la información colectada se procesó a través del software SPSS 25. Dando como resultado que la principal fuente de impacto negativo del afluente son los vertimientos domésticos, dado que son los de mayor recurrencia a lo largo del cauce.
