| dc.description | The objective of this research is to identify the manifestations of symbolic violence in the university context from the experience of female students. It corresponds to a cross-sectional, non experimental quantitative research framed in the analytical empirical paradigm and the deductive method. To collect the information, a structured questionnaire was used in 33 questions divided into the dimensions sociodemographic aspects, perception of being a victim of direct violence and manifestations of symbolic violence: by the career or program that is taking, by the tasks or participation in research, by ideological positions or beliefs, by the language used and in relation to their professional future. The sample consisted of 291 female students from a public university in the city of Cúcuta, Colombia. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics. The results show that a significant number of female students have felt victims of direct physical violence, and particularly direct psychological violence in the university context. Likewise, forms of symbolic violence are identified, mainly, one located in the professional future and another located in language. Added to these, high percentages of symbolic violence are shown due to the professional program studied and due to ideological positions / beliefs in the academic context. | en-US |
| dc.description | El objetivo de esta investigación es identificar las manifestaciones de violencia simbólica en el contexto universitario desde la experiencia de mujeres estudiantes. Corresponde a una investigación de corte cuantitativa no experimental transversal y enmarcada en el paradigma empírico analítica y el método deductivo. Para la recolección de la información, se empleó un cuestionario estructurado en 33 preguntas divididas en las dimensiones aspectos sociodemográficos, percepción de ser víctima de violencia directa y manifestaciones de violencia simbólica: por la carrera o programa que cursa, por las tareas o participaciones en investigaciones, por las posturas ideológicas o creencias, por el lenguaje empleado y en relación con su futuro profesional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 291 mujeres estudiantes de una universidad pública de la ciudad de Cúcuta, Colombia. Los datos fueron analizados a través de estadística descriptiva. Los resultados evidencian que un significativo número de mujeres estudiantes se han sentido víctimas de violencia directa física, y particularmente, violencia directa psicológica en el contexto universitario. Igualmente, se identifican formas de violencia simbólica, principalmente, una situada en el futuro profesional y otra ubicada en el lenguaje. Sumadas a estas, se muestran porcentajes altos de violencia simbólica por el programa profesional cursado y por las posturas ideológicas / creencias en el contexto académico. | es-ES |
