| dc.description | This paper will consist of a critque in response to the book El tonto y los canallas. Notas para un republicanismo transmoderno (2019) by Santiago Castro-Gómez aside from a series of objections to this last stage of the Colombian philosopher’s thought that can be considered as a kind of conservative turn in his work. It is shown that Castro-Gómez’s interpretation from modern epistemology (based on the subject-object separation) and rational politics (anthropocentric and cognitivist) does not allow him to address the ontological conflicts that in turn underlie the epistemological conflicts where the author wants to demonstrate political importance with his proposal of “republicanismo transmoderno”. It is argued that the author’s use of the Dusselian category of “transmodernity” is limited and even contradictory, as he finally ends up defending a sophisticated return to modern ways of doing politics based on the underestimation of the power of decolonial struggles of the social movements and ancestral peoples of América/ Abya Yala. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo expone una respuesta crítica al libro El tonto y los canallas. Notas para un republicanismo transmoderno (2019) de Santiago Castro-Gómez a partir de una serie de objeciones a esta última etapa del pensamiento del filósofo colombiano que puede considerarse como una suerte de giro conservador en su obra. Se muestra que la interpretación de Castro Gómez a partir de la epistemología moderna (basada en la separación sujeto-objeto) y la política racional (antropocéntrica y cognitivista) no le permite abordar los conflictos ontológicos que fundamentan a su vez los conflictos epistemológicos de los que el autor quiere dar cuenta políticamente con su propuesta de “republicanismo transmoderno”. Se argumenta que el uso que da el autor a la categoría dusseliana de “transmodernidad” es limitado e incluso, contradictorio, pues finalmente se termina defendiendo un regreso sofisticado a las formas modernas de hacer política basado en la subvaloración de la potencia de las luchas descoloniales de los movimientos sociales y los pueblos ancestrales de América/Abya Yala. | es-ES |
