| dc.description | Due to the loss of biodiversity, it has become important to consolidate spaces such as biological collections, allowing the protection of natural heritage through the ex situ conservation of organisms. The collections offer support in educational institutions as part of teaching and knowledge transfer activities. The “ficoteca” as part of these, deals specifically with the conservation of the biodiversity of algae. The Biology program at the University of Córdoba has a library, seen as an educational strategy, since it is linked to the educational processes of teaching and meaningful learning, promoting “learning by doing”. Thus, this study aims to investigate students’ perceptions of the value, scope and importance of the “ficoteca”. A qualitative study was carried out with a focus group of active students of the Biology program in relation to the contribution of the library as an educational strategy. Three phases were applied, the epistemological analysis of the problem, direct observations and semistructured interviews and the analysis of the information using Atlas ti 9 software. The results show that the “ficoteca”, in addition to providing support and service to teaching activities, has meaning from an investigative, biological and environmental character, as an effective education strategy, where an unlimited number of possibilities converge and provide an environment for feedback in educational spaces. | en-US |
| dc.description | Debido a la pérdida de la biodiversidad, se ha vuelto importante consolidar espacios como las colecciones biológicas, permitiendo resguardar el patrimonio natural a través de la conservación ex situ de organismos. Las colecciones ofrecen apoyo en instituciones de educación como parte de las actividades de enseñanza y transferencia de conocimiento. Las ficotecas como parte de estas, hace frente específicamente a la conservación de la biodiversidad de algas. El programa de Biología de la Universidad de Córdoba cuenta con una ficoteca, vista como estrategia de educación, dado que se encuentra ligada los procesos educativos de enseñanza y aprendizaje significativo, fomentando el “aprender haciendo”. Así, este estudio pretende indagar las percepciones de los estudiantes sobre el valor, alcance y la importancia de la ficoteca. Se realizó un estudio cualitativo con un grupo focal de estudiantes activos del programa de Biología en relación con el aporte de la ficoteca como estrategia educativa. Fueron aplicadas tres fases, el análisis epistemológico del problema, observaciones directas y entrevistas semiestructuradas y el análisis de la información mediante software Atlas ti 9. Los resultados dan cuenta de que la ficoteca además de proporcionar apoyo y servicio a las actividades de docencia, tiene significado desde un carácter investigativo, biológico y ambiental, como una estrategia de educación efectiva, donde convergen un número ilimitado de posibilidades que suministran un ambiente de retroalimentación en los espacios educativos. | es-ES |
