| dc.description | This article objective is to determine the happiness at work of the official elementary and middle school teachers of Manizales and to establish whether there are significant differences between the facets of happiness at work and personal work characteristics. The participants were 230 official elementary and middle school teachers from Manizales, whom 57% were women and 43% men, belonging to 18 official educational institutions. To carry out the measurement, a specific happiness at work scale for this type of population was constructed and validated through structural equations based on the main instruments used in the scientific literature from the perspective of job satisfaction. The results show that Manizales teachers experience moderate levels of happiness at work, the facet in which they present the greatest happiness is in operational conditions and nature of work besides personal fulfillment. Teachers are unhappy with their salary and the teacher’s social security as well. It was found that there are no significant differences in happiness according to gender, age, type of hiring, or training, but there are significant differences in the level of education and the educational institution where they work. | en-US |
| dc.description | El objetivo de este artículo es determinar la felicidad en el trabajo de los docentes oficiales de básica y media de Manizales y establecer si existen diferencias significativas entre las facetas de la felicidad en el trabajo y las características personales y laborales. Los participantes fueron 230 docentes oficiales de básica secundaria y media de Manizales, de los cuales el 57% fueron mujeres y el 43% hombres pertenecientes a 18 Instituciones educativas oficiales. Para realizar la medición se construyó y validó por medio de ecuaciones estructurales una escala felicidad en el trabajo específica para este tipo de población con base en los principales instrumentos utilizados en la literatura científica desde el enfoque de la satisfacción laboral. Los resultados muestran que los profesores de Manizales experimentan niveles moderados de educación básica y mediafelicidad en el trabajo, la faceta en la que presentan mayor felicidad es en la naturaleza del trabajo y en la realización personal. Los docentes son infelices con su salario y con la seguridad social del magisterio. Se encontró que no hay diferencias significativas en la felicidad según género, edad, tipo contratación, ni formación, pero si en el nivel de enseñanza y la institución educativa en la que laboran. | es-ES |
