dc.description	The objective of this article, the result of an investigative exercise within the ECSAN, is to strengthen the psychosocial skills of police officers to improve the provision of their service and increase social trust. The National Police must be capable of responding to the needs of the community in an appropriate and timely manner, and therefore must have sufficient tools to perceive, control and express emotions, both their own and those of others. That is why the strengthening of psychosocial skills, among which are assertive communication, emotional intelligence and other types of intelligence, such as conflict resolution and empathy, must be differentiating elements within police training. As a significant contribution to the research, the design of a diploma in psychosocial skills for police personnel is proposed.	en-US
dc.description	El presente artículo, fruto de un ejercicio investigativo al interior de la ECSAN, tiene como objetivo fortalecer las habilidades psicosociales de los policías para mejorar la prestación de su servicio y aumentar la confianza social. La Policía Nacional debe estar en capacidad de responder a las necesidades que la comunidad plantea de forma adecuada y oportuna, por lo cual debe tener las suficientes herramientas para percibir, controlar y expresar emociones, tanto propias como ajenas. Es por eso que el fortalecimiento de las habilidades psicosociales, dentro de las cuales se encuentran la comunicación asertiva, la inteligencia emocional y demás tipos de inteligencia, como la resolución de conflictos y la empatía, deben ser elementos diferenciadores dentro de la capacitación policial. Como aporte significativo de la investigación se propone el diseño de un diplomado en habilidades psicosociales dirigido al personal de policía.	es-ES
