| dc.description | This article studies the configuration of the aesthetics of the absurd in Todos estábamos a la espera (1954) and Los cuentos de Juana (1972), storybooks by Alvaro Cepeda Samudio. From the first critical approach of the absurd, formulated by Martin Esslin, this article analyzes its different categories and adds others that are characteristic of this aesthetic. These works deal with seemingly independent stories developed in everyday spaces. However, and directed by a different path to the traditional one, it mixes in them some elements that are part of the literature of the absurd as the nonsense, the grotesque and the dreamlike. | dc.description | Este artículo estudia la configuración de la estética del absurdo en Todos estábamos a la espera (1954) y Los cuentos de Juana (1972), libros de cuentos de Álvaro Cepeda Samudio. Desde el primer planteamiento crítico del absurdo, formulado por Martin Esslin, este se analiza aquí sus diferentes categorías y añade otras que son propias de dicha estética. Estas obras tratan historias aparentemente independientes desarrolladas en espacios cotidianos. Sin embargo, y encaminado por un sendero diferente al tradicional, mezcla en ellos algunos elementos que hacen parte de la literatura del absurdo como el sinsentido, lo grotesco y lo onírico.
