| dc.description | The new challenges of education suggest developing critical thinking in students as an essential basis of education (self-education) and even research. According to Valenzuela, Nieto and Muñoz (2014), throughout history, academics have proposed different definitions of critical thinking, reaching the consensus that in order to develop this type of thinking it is not enough to possess certain skills that compose it but also to use them. With this precedent, the objective of this research is to put in context the importance of fostering critical thinking in the university to improve the quality of thought production, which allows to fulfill the highest goal of higher education which is to propose solutions to the problems of society. | en-US |
| dc.description | Los nuevos retos de la educación sugieren desarrollar el pensamiento crítico en los estudiantes como base esencial de la educación (autoeducación) e incluso de la investigación. De acuerdo con Valenzuela, Nieto y Muñoz (2014), a lo largo de la historia los académicos han propuesto diferentes definiciones de pensamiento crítico, llegando al consenso de que para desarrollar este tipo de pensamiento no basta con poseer ciertas habilidades que lo componen sino también usarlas. Con este precedente, el objetivo de esta investigación es el poner en contexto la importancia de fomentar el pensamiento crítico en la universidad para mejorar la calidad de producción del pensamiento, que permita cumplir el más alto fin de la educación superior que es el plantear soluciones a los problemas de la sociedad. | es-ES |
