Education for death: social imaginaries of the teacher and the university student in Colombia. A biographic-narrative study

dc.description	The central topic for analysis in this research is the social stereotypes of university teachers and students about education for death in the Colombian context. The social stereotypes were investigated listening directors, teachers and students of three faculties: Education, Medicine and Nursing from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá (Colombia). The objectives were: Describe, categorize and systematize the stereotypes of the participants, deduce didactic implications and build pedagogical-didactic guidelines. The methodology was biographical narrative: autobiographical. Twenty autobiographical, individual and collaborative interviews were conducted. The findings were significant and recurrent in the stories of the participants. They expressed that Colombian universities should include education for death as an educational and curricular policy to re-build fear, not to put under taboo, reduce drama, and make abnormal the violent death. Finally, in all the stories the participants highlighted the role played by dead people in the “portrait of pain” of Colombia and these memories should allow to build communities of memory in the current post-conflict scenario.	en-US
dc.description	Esta investigación doctoral, tuvo como tema de análisis central los imaginarios sociales del docente y el estudiante universitario sobre la educación para la muerte, en el contexto colombiano. Se indagaron los imaginarios sociales, desde la voz de los directivos, docentes y estudiantes universitarios de tres facultades: Educación, Medicina y Enfermería de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá (Colombia).    Los objetivos fueron: Describir, categorizar y sistematizar los imaginarios de los participantes, deducir implicaciones didácticas y construir lineamientos pedagógico-didácticos. La metodología fue de corte biográfico-narrativo: autobiográfico, se realizaron 20 entrevistas de orientación autobiográfica, individual y colaborativa. Los hallazgos fueron significativos y recurrentes en los relatos de los actores de las facultades: expresaron que el papel de la universidad colombiana debía ser incluir la educación para la muerte como una política educativa y curricular para re/de-construir el miedo, des-tabuizar, des-teatralizar, y  des-naturalizar la muerte violenta. Finalmente, en todos los relatos los participantes se destacó el papel que han jugado los muertos en esa ‘geografía del dolor’ en Colombia, y este recuerdo debe permitir construir comunidades de memoria en el escenario actual del posconflicto.	es-ES
