| dc.description | As a myth of the noble savage has been called the tendency to ethically idealize thesocieties that traditionally have been classified as primitive. Properly this myth wasborn with the expeditions of Columbus, but it had its peak during the time of the Enlightenmentas an instrument of self-criticism of civilized countries. Propiamente naceeste mito con las expediciones de Colón, pero tuvo su apogeo durante la época de lailustración como instrumento de autocrítica de los países civilizados.
