| dc.description | Otto Morales Benítez (1920) ha sido por décadas en Colombia, uno de los escritores que de manera integral, se ha preocupado por conceptualizar el mestizaje1 e interpretar el papel del mestizo2 en la historia de la región, la nación y el continente utilizando el género del ensayo. Otto Morales Benítez propone la integración del continente, cómo puede y debe ser abordada, y cómo el mestizo, como protagonista de la historia indoamericana, es el común denominador de este proceso. La propuesta central que se plantea, ha sido, es y será una unión del continente a través de ese fenómeno, como concepto multirracial, pluricultural3, que recoge las distintas expresiones espirituales. La integración será posible en la medida que se identifique, estimule y construya un verdadero compromiso de los latinoamericanos. Consecuencia de lo anterior, se afirmará la identidad territorial y cultural y se precisará esa nueva comprensión mestiza e indoamericana del mundo. | es-ES |
