dc.description	El artículo plantea que, si bien todas las normas colombianas en su conjunto buscanproteger a los animales del dolor y el sufrimiento causado por la acción u omisión delhombre que hay una presunción legal del dolor en los animales y un imperativo ético deprotección, no existe una norma colombiana específica que trate sobre la situación delos animales modificados genéticamente, de hecho, pareciera que las normas existenteslos excluyera, pero de una interpretación jurídica amplia e integral puede concluirse quelos animales modificados son acogidos plenamente por tales disposiciones; además, seconcluye que no existe ningún planteamiento que pueda presumir o derivar la inexistenciade la esencia animal en aquellas especies modificadas genéticamente en mayor o menorgrado o incluso la inexistencia o inaplicación del concepto de dolor y sufrimiento en lasvariedades animales.
dc.description	This article suggests that while all Colombian regulations as a whole seek toprotect animals from pain and suffering caused by the act or omission of the man, there isa legal presumption of pain in animals and an imperative ethical protection, there is no aspecific Colombian rule that address the situation of genetically modified animals. In fact, itseems that the existing rules exclude them, but in a comprehensive and integral legalinterpretation can be concluded that fully modified animals are fully protected by thoseprovisions. In addition, it is concluded that there is no approach that can assume or derivethe lack of animal essence in those genetically modified to a greater or lesser extent oreven the absence or inapplicability of the concept of pain and suffering in animal varieties
