The neoliberal policies adopted in Latin America during the 80s and 90s resulted in crises in which the indebtedness played a crucial role. This article argues that the diffusion of neoliberalism in Latin America depended, partially, on the working of a set of key-institutions located outside the Continent acting in a coordinated manner
As políticas neoliberais adotadas na América Latina nas décadas de 1980 e 1990 resultaram em crises nas quais o endividamento teve um papel crucial. Esse artigo sustenta que a difusão do neoliberalismo na América Latina dependeu, em parte, de um conjunto de instituições-chave, situadas fora do Continente, que agiram de forma coordenada.
