dc.description	In the XXIst century, Brazil has claimed an increase in maritime territory and has established closer relations with African countries due to strategic resource discoveries in the South Atlantic. The paper objective was to analyze the importance of the region to the international scenario and the Brazil-Africa  cooperation in defense agreements. It was found that despite greater and more active projection in the regional surroundings, Brazil still needs to exercise its leadership role more assertively.	en-US
dc.description	No século XXI, o Brasil tem pleiteado o aumento do território marítimo e estreitado suas relações com países africanos, por conta das descobertas de recursos estratégicos no Atlântico Sul. O objetivo do trabalho é analisar a relevância da região para o cenário internacional e a cooperação Brasil-África nos acordos de defesa. Verifica-se que, apesar da projeção brasileira mais ativa no entorno regional, ainda é preciso exercer mais assertivamente o seu papel de liderança.	pt-BR
