dc.description	The twentieth century, in the words of Eric Hobsbawm, began in 1914 with World War I and ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. The end of the Soviet Union still resonates with many questions to be explained; this article aims to examine the causes of the end of the USSR. As for the methodological procedures, it will be a qualitative work of historical reconstitution, emphasizing the decades of 1980 and 1990.	en-US
dc.description	O século XX, nas palavras de Eric Hobsbawm, iniciou em 1914 com a I Guerra Mundial e finalizou com o colapso da União Soviética, em 1991. O final soviético ainda ressoa com muitos questionamentos a ser explicado, assim, este artigo possui como objetivo examinar as causas do fim da URSS. Quanto aos procedimentos metodológicos, tratar-se-á de um trabalho qualitativo de reconstituição histórica, com ênfase na década de 1980 e 1990.	pt-BR
