dc.description	This text on a comparative environmental ethics theme traces elements of the world view of Zapotecs residing in the Sierra Sur in the Mexican state of Oaxaca with the aim of illuminating some current debates in the discipline. After presenting the group studied, as well as their religious concepts, the article discusses the two most relevant aspects in order to achieve this objective: first, the existence of deities responsible for protecting the environment; second, the attachment of communities to their territory, which they consider sacred. The text ends with some suggestions about how an appreciation of the Southern Zapotec world view could fruitfully contribute to the dialogue on environmental ethics.	en-US
dc.description	Este texto de ética ambiental comparada busca rastrear aquellos elementos de la cosmovisión de los zapotecos que habitan la Sierra Sur del estado mexicano de Oaxaca susceptibles de iluminar algunos debates actuales de la disciplina. Tras una presentación del grupo estudiado, así como de sus concepciones religiosas, se exponen los dos aspectos más destacados a efectos de lograr dicho objetivo: en primer lugar, la existencia de deidades encargadas de proteger el medio ambiente; en segundo, el apego de las comunidades a su territorio, que consideran sagrado. El texto finaliza con unas sugerencias acerca del modo en que la cosmovisión de los zapotecos del Sur podría dialogar de manera fructífera con la ética ambiental.	es-ES
