dc.description	The Globus magazine was created in the context of the institutional foundation of German ethnology (Völkerkunde) with the aim of disseminating ethnographic studies and travel reports from all over the world. Considering the pioneering German expeditions in Brazil, and the importance they have had in the development of Brazilian ethnology, this work explores some of the South American content of the journal, paying particular attention to the dialogue between the ‘men of science’ and the ‘travelers’ (immigrants, settlers, merchants).	en-US
dc.description	A revista Globus foi criada no contexto de fundação institucional da etnologia alemã (Völkerkunde) com o objetivo de divulgar estudos etnográficos e relatos de viagens de toda a parte do mundo. Considerando o pioneirismo das expedições alemães no Brasil, e a importância que elas tiveram no desenvolvimento da etnologia brasileira, este trabalho explora um pouco do conteúdo sul-americano da revista, atentando especialmente para o diálogo entre os ‘homens da ciência’ e os ‘viajantes’ (imigrantes, colonos, comerciantes).	pt-PT
