| dc.description | This article attempts to document the existence of an indigenous textile trade in Argentine Patagonia from the sixteenth century to the present. Based on a contextualized analysis of historical documents, some results of ethnographical studies and field work done in the Central Plateau Region (Chubut Province), the author concludes that trade in indigenous textiles in Argentine Patagonia has existed for at least four hundred years, having been in former times an important economic resource for indigenous families that, along with other factors, has made possible their survival. | en-US |
| dc.description | Se ofrecen los fundamentos que permiten asegurar la existencia de un comercio de tejidos indígenas en la Patagonia argentina desde el siglo XVI hasta el presente. A partir de un análisis contextualizado de documentos históricos, de algunos resultados de estudios etnográficos y de la realización de un trabajo de campo en la Comarca de la Meseta Central (provincia de Chubut) se concluye que el comercio de tejidos aborígenes en la Patagonia argentina cuenta al menos con cuatrocientos años de antigüedad y es un antiguo recurso económico de las familias indígenas que, junto a otros, ha hecho posible su subsistencia. | es-ES |
