dc.description	In 2015, Valeria Luiselli worked in New York as a volunteer interpreter for dozens of children from Central America who had crossed through Mexico, hoping to receive refugee status in the USA. In her essay, the author describes the difficulties she encountered in translating the traumatic stories of these unaccompanied children. Although the text has documentary elements, it interweaves the stories of the undocumented children with Luiselli’s own story and struggles with migration. Tell Me How It Ends emphasizes the performativity of the task of the interpreter and the breakdown of the notion of community in globalized societies – societies in which some lives are considered “precarious” and “ungrievable”. In doing so, the book goes beyond a mere depiction of reality and “affects” the reader.	en-US
dc.description	En 2015, Valeria Luiselli trabajó en Nueva York como intérprete voluntaria para docenas de niños migrantes procedentes de América Central, que habían cruzado México en busca de refugio en Estados Unidos. En su ensayo, la autora describe las dificultades que encontró a la hora de traducir los relatos traumáticos de estos menores. De corte documental, el texto entrecruza la historia de migración de las víctimas centroamericanas con la de la propia Luiselli. Los niños perdidos destaca la performatividad de la labor del intérprete y pone de relieve la fractura de la noción de comunidad que se ha producido en las sociedades globalizadas: sociedades en las que determinados sujetos son relegados al rango de “vidas precarias”. Al hacerlo, logra ir más allá del mero retrato de la realidad y “afecta” a su lector.	es-ES
