dc.description	The essay examines the relation between trauma and its (attempted) linguistic representation mediated through translation in five novels published between 1990 and 2007. In Lenta biografía, by Sergio Chejfec, Insensatez, by Horacio Castellanos Moya, and Yo nunca te prometí la eternidad, by Tununa Mercado, the narrating voice puts into words and translates a traumatic experience lived by another person. In Manèges, by Laura Alcoba, and Mar paraguayo, by Wilson Bueno, the female narrators appear as traumatized subjects who approach their traumatic experience by adopting another language (Manèges), and by the invention of a migratory, contaminated speech (Mar paraguayo). After introducing the topic discussed, the essay focuses on the relation between trauma and narration as well as between translation and narration in each novel, and finally reflects on the attempt to represent trauma through language linked to the act of translation.	en-US
dc.description	Este trabajo analiza la relación entre el trauma y el intento de su representación lingüística mediada a través de la traducción en cinco novelas publicadas entre 1990 y 2007. Por un lado, en Lenta biografía de Sergio Chejfec, Insensatez de Horacio Castellanos Moya, y Yo nunca te prometí la eternidad de Tununa Mercado, la voz narrativa pone en palabras y traduce una experiencia traumática ajena. Por otro lado, en Manèges de Laura Alcoba y Mar paraguayo de Wilson Bueno, las narradoras se revelan como sujetos traumatizados que se aproximan a su experiencia traumática a través del cambio de lengua y de la invención de un habla migrante y contaminada respectivamente. Organizado en cuatro bloques, el artículo introduce la temática en cuestión, focaliza las relaciones entre trauma y narración y entre traducción y narración en las cinco novelas, y reflexiona sobre el intento de representación lingüística del trauma vinculado con el acto de traducir.	es-ES
