dc.description	The controversy over the conquest of Mexico is as old as this historical event and yet still today is of great relevance and actuality. In European historiography the binary vision of “victors and vanquished” still holds sway in many parts, even if the originally triumphal valuation of these events became the opposite throughout the twentieth century. One of the objectives of this dossier is to question the dichotomy between victorious Spaniards and defeated Indians. It presents fresh research on this secular event from different disciplinary and national perspectives.	en-US
dc.description	La controversia sobre la conquista de México es tan antigua como este acontecimiento histórico y, sin embargo, aún hoy es de gran relevancia y actualidad. En la historiografía europea, la visión binaria de "vencedores y vencidos" sigue prevaleciendo en muchas partes, aunque la antigua valoración triunfal de estos acontecimientos se convirtió en lo contrario a lo largo del siglo XX. Uno de los objetivos de este dossier es cuestionar la dicotomía entre españoles victoriosos e indios derrotados y presentar nuevas investigaciones sobre este acontecimiento secular desde diferentes perspectivas disciplinarias y nacionales.	es-ES
