dc.description	This article seeks to understand how the Catholic family model was disrupted by the climate of the Second Vatican Council, Liberation Theology, and sociocultural modernization. The analysis focuses on the Christian Family Movement in Argentina and allows an examination of the political and cultural radicalization of a conservative organization of the upper classes (created to strengthen the Catholic family) and the theological debates on the subject of the family that were sparked by the preferential option for the poor in Latin America. The analysis reveals that radicalization challenged the very foundations of the Catholic Church’s family doctrine, and, at the same time, the swift reaction of the Episcopate that restored order and defended the essentialist view of the family, an ideological cornerstone in the 1976 coup d’état.	en-US
dc.description	Este artículo apunta a entender cómo el modelo de familia católico fue conmovido por el clima del Concilio Vaticano II, la Teología de la Liberación y la modernización sociocultural. El análisis está centrado en el Movimiento Familiar Cristiano en Argentina, el que permite estudiar la radicalización política y cultural de una organización de clase alta (creada para fortalecer la familia) y los debates teológicos abiertos con el compromiso con los pobres en América Latina. La reconstrucción revela que la radicalización de dicho Movimiento puso en duda los cimientos de la doctrina católica de la familia, lo que movió a una rápida reacción del Episcopado para restaurar el orden y, con él, la visión esencialista de la familia, pilar ideológico de las fuerzas de la derecha y del golpe de Estado de 1976.	es-ES
