dc.description	The objective of the article is to characterize socio-spatial segregation and its relation to urban inequalities and human well-being in Mexican cities in the period 2000-2020. The sources of the work are empirical studies on the subject and indices of urban sustainability, human quality and participation, and of prosperous cities. The methodology is qualitative through documentary and content analysis. Main results: accelerated metropolization with an increase in socio-spatial segregation linked to an increasing differentiation and fragmentation, deconcentration and urban dispersion of upper and middle classes but of internal homogenization in closed spaces, more diversification in urban peripheries, prevalence of social insecurity, increase population and increased segregation in tourist cities that affects the poor, indigenous and immigrants, increased urban inequalities and influences the quality of life. It is concluded that socio-spatial segregation, social fragmentation and inequalities are intimately linked; affect and impede well-being and human quality; that it is necessary to build and manage the city of well-being, inclusive and to restore the polis and civitas, overcoming the dominance of the urbs of consumerism, segregation and the “non-city”.	en-US
dc.description	El objetivo del artículo es caracterizar la segregación socioespacial y su relación con las desigualdades urbanas y el bienestar humano en las ciudades mexicanas en el periodo 2000-2020. Las fuentes del trabajo son estudios empíricos sobre el tema y los índices de sustentabilidad urbana, de calidad humana y participación, y de ciudades prósperas. La metodología es cualitativa a través del análisis documental y de contenido. Principales resultados: metropolización acelerada con aumento de la segregación socioespacial vinculada a una creciente diferenciación y fragmentación, desconcentración y dispersión urbana de clases altas y medias pero de homogenización interna en espacios cerrados, más diversificación en las periferias urbanas, prevalencia de la precarización social, aumento de la población y aumento de la segregación en las ciudades turísticas que afecta a pobres, indígenas e inmigrantes, aumento de las desigualdades urbanas e influencia en la calidad de vida. Se concluye que la segregación socioespacial, la fragmentación social y desigualdades están ligadas íntimamente; afectan e impide el bienestar y la calidad humana; que es necesario construir y gestionar la ciudad del bienestar, incluyente y que restaure la polis y civitas, superando el dominio de la urbs del consumismo, de la segregación y de la “no ciudad”.	es-ES
