dc.description	El artículo pretende mostrar la manera en que se ha venido desarrollando la práctica graffitera al sur de Quito. Se centra la atención en el espacio público como proceso dinámico y conflictivo en donde la práctica graffitera es generadora de una estética urbana particular que evidencia tanto procesos ligados a la segregación espacial como concepciones elitizadas de dicha estética. Se trabajó a partir de noticias televisivas sobre graffiti emitidas en los últimos cuatro años, leyes referentes al uso del espacio público de la ciudad de Quito, materiales audiovisuales graffiteros, entrevistas etnográficas y observación participante. La inmersión en campo se realizó especialmente en el barrio Solanda, lugar altamente representativo para el sur de la ciudad y uno de los principales escenarios para el graffiti quiteño.	es-ES
dc.description	The article aims to show how the graffiti practice has been developing south of Qui to. Att ention is focused on public space as a dynamic and conflictive process where graffiti practice generates a particular urban aesthetic that demonstrates both processes linked to spatial segregation and elitised conceptions of that aesthetic. I worked from television news about graffiti issued in the last four years, laws concerning the use of public space in the city of Quito, graffiti audiovisual materials, ethnographic interviews and participant observation. The immersion in the field was done especially in the Solanda neighborhood, a highly representative place for the south of the city and one of the main scenarios for Quito graffiti.	en-US
