¿Guardians of Culture or Guardians of Struggles? A typological approach for the analysis of indigenous women´s political participation

dc.description	This article addresses indigenous women´s political participation in Argentina, Bolivia and Chile from a typological perspective. Two main modes of participation are described herein: one centered in ethnic cultural recognition and other oriented towards the politization of ethnicity from a cultural standpoint. Drawing on this, the second part of the analysis problematizes the meanings attributed to “culture” by Indigenous Peoples and the Nation States over the past few decades. As it will be argued, these different approaches set diverse conditions for the exercise of political citizenship by indigenous women. The corpus comprises documentary materials and life stories of Kolla, Aymara, Quechua and Mapuche women collected between 2008 and 2016.	en-US
dc.description	Con este artículo me propongo abordar los modos de participación política de mujeres-indígenas en Argentina, Bolivia y Chile a partir de considerar dos tipos genéricos de participación: una centrada en el rescate cultural étnico y la otra orientada a la politización de la etnicidad a partir de la cultura. Con esto problematizo los diferentes sentidos atribuidos a la noción de “cultura” en las últimas décadas –tanto por los Pueblos Indígenas como por los Estado-nación– y cómo los mismos generan las condiciones de posibilidad para el ejercicio de la ciudadanía política de las mujeres-indígenas. El corpus de análisis está constituido por material documental y entrevistas (historias de vida) realizadas a mujeres Kollas, Aymaras, Quechuas y Mapuche entre los años 2008 y 2016.	es-ES
