| dc.description | This article presents a theoretical reflection about the phenomenon of attention. This highlights the importance of the relationship between attention and action. An initial characterization of attention is developed and a division is established between representationalist positions (which use formal models to explain the phenomenon in terms of information processing) and non-representationalist positions (that explain cognition, including attention, privileging action, corporality and situations (e.g., enactivism)). Among the proposals that seek to understand the attention-action relationship, Wayne Wu's (2014) proposal of selection for action is discussed in a special way, since it is considered a novel proposal that emphasizes the importance of action and body agency for the study of attention. Finally, some central considerations of the enactivist approach arearticulated, these allow to problematize or complement some aspects left out by Wu, by making special emphasis on the active character of the subject, the role of the body and the relationship with the world and with others. | en-US |

Una caracterización inicial de la atención es desarrollada y una división es establecida entre las posturas representacionalistas (que emplean modelos formales para explicar el fenómeno en términos de procesamiento de información) y las posturas no-representacionalistas (que explican la cognición, incluida la atención, privilegiando la acción, la corporalidad y las situaciones (e.g., el enactivismo)). Entre las propuestas que buscan comprender la relación atención-acción, la propuestade Wayne Wu (2014) se discute de manera especial, en tanto se considera una propuestanovedosa que enfatiza la importancia de la acción y la agencia corporal para elestudio de la atención.
