dc.description	The Constitutional Court, in Judgment T622 of 2016, recognized the Atrato River as a subject of rights and its legal representation was granted by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development. This reflection article aims to show, in the context of the 2016 Judgment T622, some central elements for its implementation, which seeks to highlight the need for new conceptual, practical, and public policy developments so that the actions undertaken ensure their protection, conservation, maintenance, and restoration, which must be effective and realistic. In this way, the protection of the fundamental rights of the inhabitants can be achieved and the socio-environmental degradation and conflicts can be minimized.	en-US
dc.description	La Corte Constitucional, en Sentencia T622 de 2016, reconoció al río Atrato como sujeto de derechos y le otorgó al Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible su representación legal. Este artículo de reflexión tiene como objetivo presentar en el marco de la sentencia T622 de 2016 algunos elementos centrales para su aplicación; busca señalar la necesidad de nuevos desarrollos conceptuales, prácticos y de política pública, logrando acciones emprendidas para garantizar su protección, conservación, mantenimiento y restauración, siendo efectivas y reales, logrando así la protección de los derechos fundamentales de los habitantes, para lograr que la degradación y conflictos socio-ambiéntales se minimicen.	es-ES
