| dc.description | Las profundas transformaciones mentales y políticas que en Europa dieron al traste con el Antiguo Régimen fuerontambién el detonante del cambio para América. A pesar de los intentos de la Monarquía española de adaptar la administraciónde su imperio ultramarino, con actuaciones como la creación del Virreinato del Río de la Plata, el viento de laHistoria soplaba contra su intención de conservar la situación de los siglos anteriores. Es un hecho que a principios delsiglo XIX las aspiraciones sociales y políticas de los americanos ya no eran las de unas décadas antes, evidenciándoseun imparable ascenso de la conciencia criolla frente al estatismo de los peninsulares y de su administración.Luego vendrá la invasión francesa de la Península Ibérica para remover los cimientos de todo el imperio colonial español,al descabezar la monarquía y provocar una atomización del poder en ‘JUNTAS’ de significación más o menos localque se mostrarán ya incapaces de rehacer la vieja estructura. Es, sin duda, un período apasionante, donde las aspiracionesemancipadoras se funden con las sociales, sin que se deba olvidar la formulación del asunto americano en los nuevosproyectos legislativos españoles, tanto en la Constitución de Cádiz como en el Estatuto de Bayona. La Revolución deMayo de 1810 marca el punto definitivo de divergencia de los destinos de la metrópoli y su antiguo Virreinato, en mediode un proceso que llevará a la construcción de una nueva realidad, diversa y en permanente reformulación, movida poruna intensa revolución de las estructuras políticas, aunque no tanto del armazón social heredado.THE PROCESS OF INDEPENDENCE IN THE AMERICAN SOUTHERN CONE: FROM THE VICEROYALTY OF THE RÍO DE LA PLATA TO THE ARGENTINE REPUBLICAbstractThe deep mental and political transformations that ruined the old regime in Europe were also the catalyst of changefor America. Despite attempts by the Spanish monarchy to adapt the management of its overseas empire, with actionssuch as the creation of the Viceroyalty of the Rio de Plata, the wind of history blew against its intention to keep thesituation of the previous centuries. It is a fact that in the early 19th century social and political aspirations of Americanswere no longer those of a few decades earlier, demonstrating an unstoppable rise of the Creole conscience against thestatism of the Peninsula and its administration. Then the French invasion of the Iberian Peninsula took place, to remove thefoundations of the Spanish colonial empire, decapitating the monarchy and causing an atomization of power on boardsof more or less local significance already unable to redo the old structure. It is certainly a fascinating period, where theemancipatory aspirations meet the social, although we should not forget the formulation of the American issue in thenew Spanish legislative projects, both in the Cádiz Constitution and in the Statute of Bayonne. The revolution of may1810 marks the final point of divergence of the destinations of the metropolis and its former Viceroyalty, in the midst ofa process that will lead to the construction of a new reality, a diverse and permanent reformulation, driven by a strongrevolution of the political structures, though not so much of the inherited social frame structures. | es-ES |
