dc.description	El objeto de estudio de este trabajo son los sentidos sobre las femineidades, sexualidades y maternidades que circularon en la definición de los fines de la educación secundaria pública para mujeres y el tipo de educación secundaria que las mujeres debían recibir en el período 1911-1936 en el Uruguay. Se delinea al inicio una perspectiva de género para el abordaje de este objeto de estudio de Historia de la Educación. Se consultaron distintas fuentes: documentación de la Secundaria de la época, discusiones parlamentarias, discusiones en diversos medios: conferencias, diarios, revistas, materiales provenientes de las organizaciones feministas. Entre los años 1911-1913 se discute sobre el acceso de mujeres a la secundaria pública y se crean instituciones que las reciben. La primera parte de este trabajo describe las políticas e instituciones que permitieron el acceso de mujeres a la secundaria pública. A continuación se presentan diversas posturas sobre acceso de mujeres a la secundaria femenina y se vinculan estas posturas con las femineidades, sexualidades y maternidades. Las femineidades, sexualidades y maternidades que se manifiestan son variadas y se asiste en el período a una disputa por la hegemonía. Algunos temas sobre los que se debate: el hogar, la competencia por los puestos de trabajo, la capacidad intelectual de las mujeres, el feminismo, el sufragismo femenino. Entre los años 1914-1936 se encuentran las Conferencias Sobre Feminismo de Carlos Vaz Ferreira, de importante influencia. El tema sobre la educación secundaria de las mujeres se discute en torno a la discusión por el sufragio femenino. Por otro lado, se registra que las disputas generizadas alcanzan a la definición de los currículos y de los espacios educativos. Se analiza en un capítulo la discusión en torno a la definición de espacios educativos exclusivos para mujeres o de carácter mixto. Se analizan las femineidades, sexualidades y masculinidades que sostienen los feminismos de la época: Sección Uruguay de la Federación Femenina Panamericana y el Consejo Nacional de Mujeres. La “modernización de las mujeres” a que se asiste trae cambios –apertura de ámbitos de estudio y trabajo y conocimiento y lucha por derechos- a la vez que sujeta a las mujeres a la vida doméstica y a determinados sentidos de femineidades, sexualidades y maternidades.The object of study of this work are the senses about femininities, sexualities and maternities that circulated in the definition of the objectives of public secondary education for women and the type of secondary education that women should receive in the period 1911-1936 in the Uruguay. At the beginning a gender perspective is outlined for the approach of this object of study of History of Education. Different sources were consulted: documentation of the Secondary of the time, parliamentary discussions, discussions in various media: conferences, newspapers, magazines, materials from feminist organizations. Between the years 1911-1913, the access of women to public high school is discussed and institutions that receive them are created. The first part of this work describes the policies and institutions that allowed women's access to public high school. Below are several positions on women's access to the female secondary and these positions are linked to the femininities, sexualities and maternities. Feminineities, sexualities and maternities that manifest themselves are varied and during the period there is a dispute for hegemony. Some topics that are debated: the home, competition for jobs, the intellectual capacity of women, feminism, female suffrage. Between the years 1914-1936 are the Conferences on Feminism of Carlos Vaz Ferreira, of important influence. The issue of women's secondary education is linked to the discussion of women's suffrage. On the other hand, it is recorded that the generated disputes reach the definition of curricula and educational spaces. The discussion about the definition of exclusive educational spaces for women or of a mixed nature is analyzed in a chapter. The femininities, sexualities and masculinities that sustain the feminisms of the time are analyzed: Uruguay Section of the Pan-American Feminine Federation and the National Council of Women. The "modernization of women" that is attended brings changes -the openness of fields of study and work and knowledge and struggle for rights- while at the same time subjecting women to domestic life and to certain senses of femininities, sexualities and maternities.
