dc.description	Este documento presenta los resultados de una investigación cuyo propósito fue caracterizar categorías ocupacionales requeridas por empresas del sector manufacturero del municipio de Soacha (Colombia), con potencial de contratar jóvenes. Para ello se realizó una consulta a 38 empresas del municipio sobre sus ocupaciones de alta rotación y las variables que inciden en las decisiones de vinculación laboral de jóvenes. A su vez, se realizó una consulta a 395 jóvenes para conocer cómo estos entienden el mercado laboral; y se recopiló información sobre las instituciones que en Soacha brindan formación asociada con el sector. El estudio concluye que existen oportunidades de vinculación laboral para jóvenes en situación de vulnerabilidad y pobreza en el territorio, aunque tengan barreras de acceso a la cualificación. Sin embargo, los jóvenes que están logrando cualificarse le plantean retos directos a todos los actores del desarrollo de Soacha, pues sus competencias pueden llegar a superar las expectativas de la demanda laboral general del municipio, por lo cual es necesario planear cómo aprovechar este Bono demográfico, objetivo para el cual se brindan algunos lineamientos y se sugiere poner en marcha una alianza local por el empleo. This document presents the results of a research whose main objective was to characterize occupational categories required by manufacturing enterprises of the municipality of Soacha (Colombia) with the potential of hiring young workers. For this purpose, 38 enterprises were consulted in order to know about high turnover positions and the variables that determine the decisions to hire young workers. At the same time, the study surveyed 395 youngsters in order to know how they understand the local labour market. Finally, the study looks at the institutions that provide training for this population. As a main finding, the study concludes that there are employment opportunities for the young population of this municipality although; access to training is a major obstacle. This population is getting training and qualifications and represents some challenges for local authorities in Soacha as their competences might not be fully demanded in the local labour market. Overall, this entails a major challenge in order to fully take advantage of the demographic bonus that this population is going through. Some guidelines are provided at the end of this document towards an employment local alliance.
