dc.description	La eliminación del examen de ingreso y las sanciones de leyes que universalizaron la escuela secundaria intervinieron en la composición social del alumnado de las escuelas y en la potestad que tenían los/as docentes de seleccionar a su alumnado. No obstante, los/as docentes reaccionaron ante ellos por medio de prácticas más o menos visibles que tenían por objeto limitar el ingreso y la permanencia en la escuela de adolescentes cuyo origen, lugar de procedencia y nivel social de pertenencia distaba de los sectores medio a los que originalmente estuvo destinada. Así, a la lógica de la selección social para el ingreso impusieron procedimientos de selección escolar. La investigación se inscribe en la relación entre escuelas acostumbradas a trabajar con un alumnado definido y selecto y adolescentes provenientes de familias que históricamente no habían accedido al nivel medio. Además, en un contexto en donde la ley asigna nuevos derechos y determina nuevas obligaciones: por un lado, cursar la escuela secundaria se volvió un derecho y una obligación de los/as adolescentes y, por otro lado, atender a su realización una obligación del Estado y de las instituciones escolares. A través de una aproximación cualitativa, tanto en la recolección como en el análisis de los datos, en la investigación se describen y analizan los mecanismos de selección y regulación de la matrícula que se implementan en tres escuelas públicas de nivel medio de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, centrando la atención en la inscripción de dichos mecanismos en las normas formales e informales que regulan el ingreso y la permanencia de estudiantes en la escuela. The elimination of the entrance examination and the law sanctions that universalized the high school take part in the social composition of the pupils in the schools and in the power that the teachers had to choose its students. However, the teachers reacted to them by means of more or less visible practices that were intended to limit the entry and stay in school of adolescents whose background, place of origin and social level of belonging was far from sectors to which was originally intended. Thus, the logic of social selection for admission imposed school selection procedures. Research is registered in the relationship among schools used to work with a defined and select students and teenagers from families that historically had not gained access to the middle level. In addition, in a context where the law assigns new rights and determines new obligations: on the one hand, take the secondary school became a right and an obligation of the teenagers and, on the other hand, an obligation of the State and the school institutions attend its realization. Through a qualitative approach, both in collection and in the analysis of data, in the research are described and analyzed mechanisms for selection and regulation of enrollment which are implemented in three public schools middle level of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, by focusing attention on the registration of such mechanisms in the formal and informal rules that regulating the entry and stay of students at the school.
