| dc.description | A partir de una caracterización de la gestión integral, tanto en términos cuantitativos como de estrategia de política pública, este artículo presenta un marco de referencia que permite juzgar el estado actual de la implementación de la gestión integral de residuos sólidos urbanos (GIRSU) en México. El artículo señala que ésta continúa siendo una tarea pendiente por el desafío que el manejo de residuos implica y por la condición deficitaria en términos de infraestructura que caracteriza a los municipios mexicanos. También porque la implementación del llamado modelo de sustentabilidad de los residuos ha provocado diferencias territoriales significativas, por zonas geográficas y tamaños de localidad, que apuntan hacia la construcción de una nueva geografía, generada por la crisis ambiental relacionada con el manejo que reciben los residuos sólidos en el país. | |
| dc.description | Characterizing the Solid Waste Management, both quantitative and as public policy strategy, this article presents a framework for judging the current situation of SWM implementation in Mexico. The article notes that this remains a pending task because the challenge involves waste management, the deficient infrastructure condition that characterizes the Mexican municipalities and because the implementation of the so-called Sustainability Model of Waste has generated significant regional differences, by geographical areas and settlement size, revealing the construction of a new geography, that of the environmental crisis related to the solid waste management in the country. | |
