| dc.description | Multicultural neighbourhoods represent the space of the increasing diversity of our cities, where tomorrow's society is constituted. This article analyses the insertion of immigrant neighbours in the Russafa neighbourhood in Valencia, the sociability phenomena and the kind of coexistence which has been generated. Two dynamics are highlighted; on the one side there is the dynamic of the majority, which is more inclusive, based on the pacific however distant coexistence. On the other, a more exclusive, minority dynamic exists which characterises the immigrant as a degrading factor and undesirable neighbour. The article finishes wondering about the necessary conditions to make possible and feasible a multicultural neighbourhood, able to be common and friendly for all. | en-US |
| dc.description | Los barrios multiculturales constituyen el espacio de la creciente diversidad de nuestras ciudades y donde se conforma la sociedad de mañana. Este artículo analiza la inserción de los vecinos inmigrantes en el barrio de Russafa, Valencia, los fenómenos de sociabilidad y la convivencia que se ha generado. Se destacan dos dinámicas. Una mayoritaria, más inclusiva, basada en la convivencia pacífica pero distante. Otra, más excluyente y minoritaria, que caracteriza al inmigrante como factor degradante y vecino indeseable. Se finaliza preguntándose por las condiciones para hacer posible y viable un barrio multicultural, común y acogedor para todos. | es-ES |
