From the “beautiful soul” to the “ugly body”? a materialistic analysis of political subjectivity

dc.description	In the light of the social and political movements currently developing in Spain, we reflect on the conditions of possibility of a project that resists repetition’s inertia and previous impasses. A process, in short, capable of keeping an open angle to event and an idea of community without the trap of Totality and its segregation effects. Various approaches to such question have rethought the concept of subject and/or subjectivity. The present reflection, on the contrary, takes up the notion of “beautiful soul” by Hegel and then Lacan, in order to produce a small twirl by introducing the notion of “ugly body”, as an alternative to such subjective position. The analyses takes two axes: 1- how to conceptualize the “ugliness” of the body, avoiding a dualistic or idealistic approach; 2- we examine de lacanian notion of “subjective rectification” and its political application.	en-US
dc.description	A la luz de los movimientos sociales y políticos en proceso de construcción en España, reflexionamos sobre las condiciones de posibilidad de un proyecto que resista frente a la inercia de la repetición y los impasses de antaño. Un proceso, en suma, capaz de mantener abierto cierto margen para el acontecimiento, y una de idea de lo común que no caiga en la trampa del Todo y sus efectos de segregación. Desde diferentes ángulos, se ha abordado la cuestión repensando el concepto de sujeto y/o subjetividad. Esta breve reflexión, en cambio, retoma la noción de “alma bella” según Hegel y luego Lacan, para producir un pequeño giro introduciendo la noción el “cuerpo feo” como alternativa a dicha posición subjetiva. Analizamos dos ejes: 1- cómo entender la “fealdad” del cuerpo sin caer en una propuesta dualista o idealista; 2- revisamos la noción lacaniana de “rectificación subjetiva” y su posible aplicación política.	es-ES
