dc.description	This paper explores, primarily from Michel Foucault's research, the various political, economic and social forms that emerged from the relationship between the city and medicine in light of the installation of the term "population" as a modern problem. Focusing on the analysis in the development of management technologies of the population, the study seeks to explain how, between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, hygienism, sanitation and medicine exerted an action that operated beyond the classic boundaries defined by the disease, assistance and care, achieving its progressive installation in various fields of individual and collective existence. This meant that the process of socialization of medicine also brought the "medicalization" of the city and all of those who lived in it.	en-US
dc.description	El presente texto explora, principalmente desde las investigaciones de Michel Foucault, las diversas formas políticas, económicas y sociales que surgieron de la relación entre ciudad y medicina a la luz de la instalación del concepto de “población” como problema moderno. Centrando el análisis en el desarrollo de las tecnologías de administración de la población, se busca explicar cómo entre los siglos XVIII y XIX, el higienismo, la salubridad y la medicina ejercieron una acción que operó más allá de los límites clásicos definidos por la enfermedad, la asistencia y el cuidado, logrando instalarse progresivamente en diversos campos de la existencia individual y colectiva. Esto significó que el proceso de socialización de la medicina trajera consigo la “medicalización” de la cuidad y de quienes la habitaban.	es-ES
