dc.description	The purpose of this paper is to critically analyze the main propositions of Anthony Giddens´s theory of structuration, to think about the proposed synthesis between structure and action to overcome the dualism individual-society/subjectivism-objectivism. It is considered that this study allows to discuss some of the key topics of contemporary social theory — which had its apogee between the late 1960s and mid 1980s — of which this author is one of its principal exponents. The multiple sources from which this theory feeds unleashed various discussions about whether this theory could be a synthesis of the classical conceptions, or whether it was only a formulation of theoretical concepts clipped together. Taking this question as a starting point, it is suggested the thesis that despite the radical nature of the critique of structuralism, Giddens concentrates more on a redefinition of the concept of structure than in a reworking of a sociological theory of the actor and the social action.	en-US
dc.description	El propósito del trabajo es discutir algunos de los principales postulados de la teoría de la estructuración de Anthony Giddens, a fin de reflexionar acerca de la síntesis que propone entre estructura y acción. Consideramos que este estudio permite debatir algunos de los tópicos dominantes de la teoría social contemporánea, de la que este autor constituye uno de sus principales exponentes. Las múltiples fuentes de las que se nutre la teoría de estructuración desató distintos debates acerca de si esta teoría lograba ser una síntesis superadora de las concepciones clásicas, o si se trataba únicamente de una formulación que recortaba conceptos de distintos cuerpos teóricos. Tomando este interrogante como puntapié inicial de trabajo, argumentamos la tesis que sostiene que pese al carácter radical de la crítica a los estructuralismos, Giddens se concentra más en una redefinición del concepto de estructura que en una reelaboración de una teoría sociológica del actor y la acción social.	es-ES
