This research aims to analyze body changes as a result of the development of a physical disability and how it affects subject’s gender identity. Following this research, I embodied the process of reflexivity needed to be aware of and consistent with the approaches of feminist epistemology and critical ethnography. This process led me to reflect and rethink my professional practice, ethics of research and, based on the questions "Who am I to my informants?" and "who are they for me?" my relation with the field. Meaningfully, I reflect on how variables that intersect in the symbolic and material position of the subjects (in this case my informants and myself) influence the relationship between them and, consequently, in the generation of situated knowledge. Once I finished this analysis, I found imperative to review the thesis I once defended and re-situate the findings.Mi investigación tiene como objetivo conocer cómo afecta la transformación corporal, fruto de la adquisición de una diversidad funcional física, a la identidad de género del sujeto. A raíz de esta investigación, he encarnado el proceso de reflexividad necesario para ser consciente y consecuente con los planteamientos de la epistemología feminista y la etnografía crítica. Este proceso me ha conducido a reflexionar y re-pensar mi praxis profesional, la ética de la investigación y, partiendo de las preguntas “¿quién soy ya para mis informantes?” y “¿quiénes son ellos/as para mí?”, mi relación con el campo. De forma especialmente significativa, he buscado reflexionar sobre cómo las variables que interseccionan en el posicionamiento simbólico y material de los sujetos (en estos caso mis informantes y yo misma) influyen en la relación entre ellos y, en consecuencia, en la generación de un conocimiento situado. Finalizado este proceso, no he podido más que revisar las tesis que defendí en su momento y re-situar las conclusiones.
