| dc.description | In this article we will get involved in the analysis of the main articulation formulas Manuel Castells proposes between the notions of communication and culture, during a period of his theoretical work spannning 1996-2009. The central purpose of this piece of work is the decoding of the main theoretical operations the Spanish sociologist carries out within this framework, as well as the general views insinuated through them. For this we will pay special attention to the tactics of appropriation that displays the Catalan sociologist in relation to the theoretical sources present in this space of intersection: Jean Baudrillard, Roland Barthes y Neil Postman. The present research, that only partially addresses the different aspects that constitute the cultural theory of the author, allow us to discover the adoption by Castells of a techno mediatic conception of communication and culture, that tend to subsume his general concept of culture, and largely is recreated in the shadow of an explicit and generalist discourse of the sociocultural communication | en-US |
| dc.description | En el presente artículo nos ocupamos del análisis de las principales fórmulas de articulación que propone Manuel Castells entre las nociones de comunicación y de cultura, en un periodo de su producción teórica que abarca desde 1996 a 2009. El propósito central del trabajo es el desciframiento de las operaciones teóricas principales que efectúa Castells en este marco, así como de las visiones generales insinuadas a través de ellas. Para ello prestaremos especial atención a la táctica de apropiación que despliega el sociólogo catalán en relación a las fuentes teóricas centrales presentes en dicho espacio de intersección: Jean Baudrillard, Roland Barthes y Neil Postman. La investigación en cuestión, que sólo aborda parcialmente las diferentes aristas que constituyen la teoría cultural del autor, nos permitirá descubrir la adopción por parte de Castells de una concepción tecnomediática de la comunicación y la cultura, que tiende a subsumir su concepto general de cultura, y que en gran medida se recrea a la sombra de un discurso explícito y generalista de la comunicación sociocultural. | es-ES |
