About the endurance of developmentalism: The need for a conceptual turn.

dc.description	The imperative to develop has a long history of criticisms and adjustments since its genesis after World War II. In spite of this, as I argue here, we continue situating ourselves inside the imaginary of development, reproducing its classifications and power relations. In this article I would like to call for a turn in our way of understanding and using the concept of "development". I argue that to continue thinking in its terms means to continue reproducing its logic of dichotomous identities (world population categorization in developed/ underdeveloped), it means as well to continue blocking "other" modalities of being and of knowledge and to obscure different ways of understanding the problems which humanity faces. I will also reflect upon the andean concept of "Living Well" as an illustration of the possibilities of imagining beyond developmentalism.	en-US
dc.description	El mandato del desarrollo lleva una larga historia de críticas y ajustes desde su génesis después de la segunda guerra mundial. A pesar de esto, y como argumentaré aquí, seguimos situados dentro de su imaginario, reproduciendo las clasificaciones y relaciones de poder que le se son propias. En este artículo quiero hacer un llamado para que dejemos de pensar(nos) según las lógicas del "desarrollismo". Argumentaré que continuar hablando de desarrollo significa continuar reproduciendo la lógica dicotómica de identidades (categorización de la población mundial en desarrollados/ subdesarrollados), significa así mismo continuar bloqueando ‘otras' modalidades de ser y de saber, e invisibilizando maneras distintas de entender los problemas que aquejan a gran parte de la humanidad. Paso también por último a presentar el concepto andino del ‘Buen Vivir' como ilustración de posibilidades de imaginar el mundo y sus pobladores fuera del desarrollismo.	es-ES
