dc.description	The deinstitutionalization of society is in part associated with the growing implementation of new information and communication technologies. These new technologies bring about new collective formations. if the social sciences are succesfully to understand the impact of these technologies, we will need new ways of thinking about institutions and power. We shall take the case of telephone helplines as a test-bed for Foucault's proposals for understanding institutions' operation of power. Specifically, we use the Foucaultian notion that space, body and norms are constitutive elements of the corporeality of institutions. We report how this applies to the case of telephone helplines, and we claim that Foucault's concepts do not go far enough. Instead, we propose the new concept of 'extitution'. Extuition helps understand new anatomies of power anatomy and new kinds of social practices.	en-US
dc.description	Los procesos de desinstitucionalización creciente en nuestras sociedades están asociados a la implementación de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación. Como consecuencia de ello están surgiendo nuevas formaciones sociales que exigen un replanteamiento de conceptos tan arraigados como institución o poder. A través de la Teleasistencia Domiciliaria (TAD) vamos a comprobar como los conceptos que nos propuso Foucault para entender las operaciones de poder en las instituciones han de ser llevados más allá. Concretamente analizaremos el papel del espacio, el cuerpo y la norma, como elementos constitutivos de la fisicalidad de las instituciones y veremos cómo estos cambian en el caso de la TAD. Propondremos un concepto como el de extitución para analizar en qué sentido estas entidades dibujan una anatomía de poder nueva e implican operaciones y prácticas diferentes.	es-ES
