dc.description	¿What is it that moves into researching? ¿Why do we conduct it and what is such effort worth? These are the main questions underlying this paper: a tour into several of the topics involved in the "ought to's" of social sciences -objectivity, knowledge, transformation. His claim is that "pleasure is precisely what we count on to found our commitment for researching". Such claim does not imply in any way rather soft or pleasing criteria, for only the studies of great quality, implacable rigour, conscious elaboration and sustained effort, manage to reach the place of a beautiful objects of thought, capable of modifying their authors as well as those who enter in contact with them. To replace that old barometer of objectivity by the hetherodox barometer of pleasure -the main subject of this paper- is not to lowen any of the levels that a good social practice demands. dc.description	¿Qué es lo que nos mueve a investigar? ¿por qué este empeño y para qué este esfuerzo? Constituyen estos los interrogantes fundamentales a partir de los cuales, este trabajo, en un recorrido argumental que atraviesa varios tópicos relativos al "deber ser" del quehacer científico social -objetividad, saber, transformación- sustenta la tesis de que "el placer es precisamente lo que nos queda para fundamentar nuestro compromiso con la investigación." Ello no significa adoptar un criterio laxo y complaciente, porque sólo las investigaciones de gran calidad, de implacable rigor, de concienzuda factura, y de sostenido esfuerzo, consiguen constituirse en un bello objeto de pensamiento capaz de modificar a quienes las han elaborado y a quienes tomamos conocimiento de ellas. Sustituir el viejo barómetro de la objetividad por el heterodoxo barómetro del placer ?tema fundamental del artículo?, no es ni mucho menos retroceder en el nivel de exigencia al que debe responder una investigación.
