In the field of teacher training, it´s common for future teachers to have beliefs about their poor artistic abilities or lack of creativity. There are several studies that have analyzed this situation from different perspectives, as well as proposals to counteract it. This article focuses on a specific proposal in the context of a teacher training process of the Artistic Education Line of the master’s degree in Educational Development (MDE) of the National Pedagogical University (UPN) in agreement with the National Center of the Arts (Cenart) that takes place in Mexico City and in which four artist-teacher specialists in different disciplines design interdisciplinary didactic sequences of artistic exploration. Access to their way of working was through observations and ethnographic interviews in the framework of a qualitative doctoral research. The objective of the article is to analyze a particular appreciation strategy implemented by the artist teacher expert in visual arts and to show how his comments and questions, can encourage students to recognize their artistic abilities and have confidence to explore with the arts.En el ámbito de la formación docente es común que el futuro profesorado tenga creencias acerca de sus pocas habilidades artísticas o falta de creatividad. Existen diversos estudios que han analizado desde diferentes perspectivas esta situación, así como propuestas para contrarrestarla. El presente artículo se centra en una propuesta específica en el contexto de un proceso de formación docente interinstitucional en la Ciudad de México en el que cuatro artistas-docentes especialistas en diferentes disciplinas diseñan secuencias didácticas interdisciplinarias de exploración artística. El acceso a su forma de trabajo fue a través de observaciones y entrevistas etnográficas en el marco de una investigación doctoral de corte cualitativo. El objetivo del artículo es analizar una estrategia particular de apreciación implementada por el artista-docente de artes visuales y mostrar cómo a través de sus comentarios y preguntas puede favorecer que el estudiantado reconozca sus habilidades artísticas y tenga confianza para explorar con las artes.
